If you’re not sure how to decorate your windows for the holiday’s here’s a few simple solutions.

• String colorful sequined or unusual stockings on color wire, ribbon or yarn.
• Use varies size stockings and hang them at your window. It’s a great way to use your space without losing space.
• If stockings aren’t your style use snowflakes, shiny balls or any holiday decor along with decorating your windowsill as the centerpiece for your holiday decor.

Eggnog Martini

Eggnog Martini Ingredients
1 ounce spiced rum, something like Captain Morgan’s.
1 1/2 ounces dark rum, your favorite brand will do.
1/2 ounce vanilla vodka
3 ounces of eggnog – either homemade or store bought depending on how much time you have.
1/4 ounce plain syrup Crushed graham crackers Honey
Eggnog Martini Directions
Mix the dark rum, spiced rum, and vodka in a martini shaker. Add ice.
Add in the eggnog and a dash of syrup. Dip the rim of a chilled martini glass in honey, then into the graham crackers. Shake, strain, then pour into the chilled martini glass.
Optional: garnish by adding a cinnamon stick, or a small amount of powdered cinnamon to the top of the drink.
Scale up for multiple martinis

Today is the first day of winter and for those of you having winter weddings; help keep your guests stay warm during your festivities with an assortment of pashmina shawls for the ladies and scarves for men.

After sitting or standing outside waiting for the ceremony to start or waiting for their photo to be taken or for cocktails they will welcome the gesture.

It’s also a great wedding favor.

I was recently asked to be a guest blogger for the Chocolate Nation www.thechocolatenation.com and share some of my tips for Winter Weddings and holiday parties. Heres a preview of select tips I will feature each Friday during the month of December.

Tip number 1 – is one of those that should always be remembered for any event.

#1 Stay true to who you are…

#2 Winter weddings and events do not always have to be mean white. Feel free to add a fall color as part of your bridal party, flowers or just that pop, in shoes. Shades of blue can also add to that cool feel of winter.

#3 Treat your female guests to pashmina shawls – the men to scarves. This is the perfect gift while guests are waiting for photos or the ceremony/reception to start.

#4 Always dream of a wedding or party in a ski lodge? Rent fireplaces and arrange your cocktail hour (party) to feel like old friends hanging around the lodge after a day of skiing and playing in the snow. (Did you say cocoa and s’mores…we hear you!).

#5 As well as the bars, how about something unusual – a hot bar. Stocked with hot cider, cocoa, coffee and tea – and all the extra accompaniments to give it that extra warmth.

#6 After the cake or dessert, an unusual and sweet finishing touch..a mini chocolate fondue? Perhaps a s’mores station or cognac and chocolate pairings!
